Fresh Flower Care Tips

Fresh Flower Care Tips

Keep your flowers nice and fresh with these quick tips!

Tip #1: Trim about half an inch off your flower stem at a 45-degree angle. Cutting the flowers allows for better water absorption, keeping your flowers hydrated and lasting longer.

Tip #2: Make sure you are changing the water entirely every couple days. Flower stems contain tiny capillaries where the water moves along and makes the water into food.

Remember to keep the vase full to make sure your flowers do not dehydrate. Add in a packet of flower food.

Tip #3: Sometimes we like to place our new flower arrangements on windows or high places to see them better, but it is very important to not place them in direct sun light and heat.

As this makes the flowers wilt and mature much quicker. Keep them in a cool dark place where your flowers will last longer and fresh.

Tip #4: Do not keep your flowers near ripening fruit or vegetables. Fruits give off an odorless gas called ethylene, which promotes ripening of fruit and aging of flowers.
